Lunchtime Concert
Toolbox Percussion brought a series of Christmas Carols with KTS junior string band and junior percussion ensemble in the Lunchtime concert for students, celebrating an early Christmas. “Across the Taoist Doctrines”, a piece written for violin and percussion by Dr. Chi-hin Leung was also performed by Toolbox Percussion artists and violinist Dr. Patrick Yim.
Toolbox Percussion brought a lunchtime concert to Kowloon Tong School (Primary Section) once again to share two pieces with different style; A marimba duo piece “Nagoya Marimba” performed by toolbox percussion artists Brian Chan and Jacky Lam, and a minimalism work “In C” performed by students from the electronic music composition workshop and toolbox percussion artists under the guidance of Alain Chiu.
Graphic Notation Workshop
Toolbox Percussion invited the lecturer at the Hong Kong Baptist University Department of Music, Dr. Austin Yip to teach students from Kowloon Tong School (Primary Section) to create graphic notation. The two large graphic scores created were performed by percussionists Jacky Lam and Brian Chan.
